*2021 Start Date*
The Cochrane & District Ag Society is now open and we are approved to start roping!
We still have strict guidelines that we all MUST follow while at the CDAS.
Every member MUST complete a CDAS Waiver AND a COVID-19 Appendix and bring both of these completed forms to their first roping or email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can download both forms below:
CDAS COVID-19 Appendix
You only need to complete the Waiver once for the entire year. You will not be able to rope until you have completed both of these forms.
Every member MUST complete the COVID-19 Health Check on TeamSnap prior to EVERY roping practice/lesson/competition.
Please stay 2 meters away from others (unless you live in the same household) or you must wear a mask-Use hand sanitizer before and after touching the manure forks, wheelbarrow, opening gates, wraps, chute, roping dummies, Heelomatic, etc. No sharing of horses/tack/equipment.
If you are comfortable roping with us this season, and you agree to follow the COVID-19 rules set by AHS, then join us at the Cochrane & District Ag Society starting Monday June 15th for our first Team Roping Practice of 2021.
Please check out our schedule for the Team Roping, Ranch Roping, Youth Program and, new to this year, our Adult Lesson Program taught by Jeff Quam! The same fabulous instructor that teaches our Youth Program.
Welcome To The Cochrane Roping Club!
The Cochrane Roping Club is a fun, team roping oriented club located in Cochrane, Alberta. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned roper, the Cochrane Roping Club accommodates all skill levels and has something to offer everyone.
We are fully equipped with roping dummies, a Heel-o-matic and a Time Machine to provide beginner ropers a way to practice on something other than live cattle. We have long horn cattle, & our Stock page has more details on the care and handling of our animals.
If you enjoy roping or want to learn how to rope, and want to have a lot of fun while doing it, we encourage you to come join the Cochrane Roping Club!
Please check sections for practice nights, youth roping program and special events. Some roping nights may change or be cancelled without warning (e.g. bad weather, scheduling conflicts, etc.). Ask about joining our TeamSnap and keep informed as to roping events and changes, but if you are ever in doubt please email us.
Please check the news page for information on work-bees, clinics and special events.
Check out our Events Calendar for scheduled events. Upcoming events are also listed at the bottom of this page.
